

Michal Stanikowski is widely regarded as one of the most remarkable Polish concert guitarists of his generation. In 2006 he graduated from the classes of Prof. Piotr Zaleski at the Academy of Music in Wrocław and Prof. Sonja Prunnbauer at the Academy of Music in Freiburg. Actually he is studying "Soloclass" by Prof. Ricardo Gallen at the Academy of Music in Weimar and "Master of Chamber Music" by Prof. Michael R. Hampel at the Academy of Music in Trossingen.
He participated in the Master Classes of great guitarists: Aniello Desiderio, David Russell, Thomas Müller-Pering and Fabio Zanon.
He is a prize winner of 16th national and international competitions: „International Guitar Competition Sanok 1999“, „International Guitar Competition Velbert 2000“, „International Guitar Competition Anna-Amalia Weimar 2001“, „International Music Competition Iris-Marquadt-Preis 2010“, „Axis International Guitar Competition Enschede 2010“ and the „V International Guitar Competition in Olsztyn 2010“.
He has been awarded grants by The Ministry of Culture, by "The National Childrens Foundation", by Foundation "Young Poland" and "Yehudi Menuhin Live Music" Foundation.
As a soloist, international concert engagements have brought him through the Europe and he has been a featured artist at numerous international festivals, as well as on Radio and Television productions. In the Year 2007-2008 he recorded two CDs.
